From the VANISHED dust jacket.
Harper Blaine was your average small-time PI until she died—for two minutes. Now Harper is a Greywalker, treading the thin line between the living world and the paranormal realm. And she's discovering that her new abilities are landing her all sorts of "strange" cases.
For Seattle investigator Harper Blaine, her own case may prove the most difficult to solve. Why did she—as opposed to others with near-death experiences—become a Greywalker? When Harper begins digging into her own past, she unearths some unpleasant truths about her father's early death as well as a mysterious puzzle. She sets out to find his ghost but encounters only a void where he should be, leaving her with more unanswered questions.
Before she can continue her search, Harper gets an offer she can't refuse to go to London and pursue an investigation on behalf of some very demanding vampires. But there are unpleasant surprises waiting for her, and Harper soon discovers her present trouble in England is entangled with her dark past back in Seattle—and her ultimate destiny as a Greywalker.
I loved VANISHED. I think it may be my favorite in the series. Many questions about Harper’s past are answered here. There are many more questions waiting to be answered in the next book. As I read the last words in Vanished I found I I’m already looking forward to book #5.

That's a good way for Kat to leave the reader, anxiously waiting for the next one.
That Richardson lady is one smart chicka.
During my drive home today I was wishing I had more story to come home to. I'll settle for re-reading for now. :o)
